Kemal Unakıtan (born February 14, 1946 in Edirne, Turkey) was the Minister of Finance of Turkey from November 2002 to May 2009 and a Member of Parliament for Istanbul of the Justice and Development Party. He was formerly a board member of the Family Finance Group. In his time as minister of finance he has presided over a number of situations primarily the Treasury's need to raise funds (!) in a time when Turkey has a large national debt and is failing to collect taxes to cover it.
